Carlota Ciganda wins Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give, securing her first LPGA Tour title in over 8 1/2 years. She finished the tournament at 16-under par, birdieing the final two holes to avoid a playoff with Hye-Jin Choi.
Lexi Thompson entered the final round with a share of the lead but was unable to close out the win. Struggling on the back nine, Thompson made three bogeys over her last five holes, including missed putts on holes 16 and 17. She finished tied for fourth place at 13-under par.
Ciganda’s strong finish earned her a long-awaited return to the winner’s circle and capped off a competitive week at the Meijer LPGA Classic.
