Brooke Biermann Reaches U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship Final

August 13, 2025 by markmusicrecordshop

Brooke Biermann follows through on her golf swing during the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, wearing a green shirt and white skirt.

St. Louis native Brooke Biermann, a recent Michigan State University graduate, put together an impressive run at the 125th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship held at Bandon Dunes.

Biermann’s path to the title match was anything but easy. She navigated three nail-biting matches that went beyond regulation, including a 19-hole semifinal victory over Lyla Louderbaugh. Those wins secured her place in the 36-hole final against Stanford University’s Megha Ganne.

In the championship round, Biermann battled through the challenging coastal winds but ultimately fell to Ganne by a score of 4 and 3. Even in defeat, she demonstrated outstanding skill, resilience, and sportsmanship.

Adding to the special nature of her performance, Biermann’s father, Bill Biermann, was on the bag as her caddie throughout the week—making her strong showing a true family affair.

125th U.S. Women's Amateur Championship at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort

The 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship is officially underway at the scenic Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Oregon, marking a historic first for the prestigious venue. The championship runs from August 4 to August 10, bringing together top amateur golfers from across the country.

The competition began with two days of stroke play qualifying on Monday and Tuesday, August 4–5, which determined the top 64 players advancing to the match play portion of the event. Today, Wednesday, August 6, marks the start of the Round of 64—the first official round of match play.

While Bandon Dunes is no stranger to hosting USGA championships, this is the first time it has welcomed the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, adding to the course’s growing legacy in competitive golf.

Golf fans and aspiring athletes alike are keeping a close eye on this week’s action as match play unfolds at one of the most celebrated coastal venues in the sport.
